MZ-N707 Hack: Getting 'NO DISC' error when inserting disc

I bought my Minidisc yesterday and I've already messed it up. I did the hack to add the new features, and I thought it went fine until I put a MiniDisc into the unit and it said 'NO DISC'. It also makes a lot of noise. I've had a look around, and have the following questions:

Does anyone have the default EEPROM values for this model?

Should I reset the EEPROM and auto adjust the unit (as explained at http://www.minidisc.org/sony_mzr_reset.html)?

Page 19 of the service manual lists a shit load of settings that have to be changed after a reset. Do all these need to be done? Can I auto adjust instead?

Thanks for any help!

Scott
