markcoop
HELP!!! I've just found my Sony MZN1 MD player at the bottom of my bag, immersed in a pool of Coke! It's gone right into the player throughout. At first it was just completely blank and wouldn't do anything, however I’ve allowed it to dry out overnight and with the aid of a hairdryer. Now it is showing signs of life, yet it is finding it hard to read discs and won't play anything... Is this the end of my poor little MD or can some one give me reassuring words of how to fix this PLEASE?
Guest Anonymous
well if it has warranty on it go to where you bought it from and say: 'hey this thingy doesnt play as good as it used to, clean it' if there is no warranty you can also give it in for repair, or try doing it yourself problem is coke got sugar and other sticky stuff, but the only things you need to clean are the moving parts so carefuly unscrew it, without disconnecting anything, and using paper towel or cotton swab and some water clean it up a bit i had this thing happen to my AIWA cassette player, which i was able to ressurrect using the above method good luck
Guest Anonymous
THE MAIN THING THAT U NEED TO CLEAN IS THE WRITE HEAD AND THE OPTICAL BLOCK I BELEIVE THAT IT GOT COKE REMAINS ALL OVER THE LENS AND THATS THE PART THAT READS THE DISC

mojo1287
Look for an ultrasonic PCB cleaner bath. You will need a new LCD perhaps from another broken one, but the pcb cleaner will make the stuff inside work.
