Guest Richard
I'm having stuttering problems with my trusty mz-r700. I have recorded over 50 trouble-free live shows with this player, and lately it has started to stutter on playback and record. Yes, I have used a lens cleaner, which seemed to help..but it is still doing it! I have succesfully used my girlfriends mz-r700 to playback these recordings, but the last time I tried this her player failed to recognize my disc..resulting in a disc error readout on her machine. Is my minidisc tired and ready for retirement, or is there something else I can do to troubleshoot this problem? Thanks, Richard
Guest Anonymous
If the recording was made on the portable, I'd say the portable is developing problems with the recording laser. It is a common problem with portable recorders in that the recording head becomes misaligned after a heavy drop or the recording laser is simply weakening due to old age. It seems like everyhing records fine, but when you go to playback, all sorts of wierd shit happens, and it will get progressively worse. Symptoms include disk getting "stuck" at certain points, in the worst case, you'll end up with a blank disk or disc err after completing a recording. I've had similar problems, check out this thread for further info. http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=1623 Nick S.
