Guest Anonymous
OK, here's another one. I may be a little slow here, but I'm trying to figure out if I need a preamp. I'm recording with SP-CM6 omnis into a battery box and into a Sharp DR-7. So far, so good. I'm doing live recording, acoustic music, lots of percussion. Is there any reason I would need a preamp? Is it correct that this is only needed for quiet sounds? If so, does that mean that my mics will pick up quiet sounds more effectively? (Sometimes I do record softer sounds). Also ... would a preamp and a battery box be used concurrently, or does one substitute for the other?
Guest Anonymous
Where did you get your battery box from? How much did it cost? And how big is it?
