"ANALOG" MD TO MD TRANSFER

Hello,

I was curious about the sound quality if I want to copy MiniDisc to MiniDisc in ANALOG? The stupid SCMS prevents me from doing it digitally.

Is there a noticeable difference -

allow me to be more specific:

I want to copy my STEREO SP MD's

(of MONO material) to another MD

IN ANALOG using the MONO mode. I want to do this because the material is MONO on the original MD's and I want to "double" the time on the copied MD.

Also, the sound on the ORIGINAL MD's contain some "surface noise" - they are recordings of old MONO LP records. I read somewhere that by combining the L/R channels (MONO) some of the "surface Noise"

will be reduced.

How is the quality of the sound if

I go MD SP STEREO to MD SP MONO

in ANALOG? What about setting

the "Recording Levels" for this transfer?
