Guest Anonymous
Well, after serious thought and after reading all of the posts on the hack, I nervously decided to attempt this exercise. I pondered the question for a long time, before thinking about entering the forbidden "service mode". But, since I primarily use this thing for my car, I badly wanted the "line out" function. I felt I was ready. So, I practiced, took a deep breath, and did it. What a great deal. It works great. Line out is sweet. No more fiddling with various volume or sound controls. My car deck handles everything like it should. I have a MZ-N505. I followed the directions carefully and it worked fine. The version of my unit turned out to be 1.4. Setting 1 was 80 and Setting 2 was 10, just like they said. What fun! For those waiting... wait no more...just do it!
bzavala
Just be VERY careful. Read the instructions several times before so you get familiar, and do exactly as it says! When I hacked mine, I did something somehow at the end, got confused with the key strikes, or something, when I took the power off and turned it on, the keys had changed their function!! luckily there was a reply from someone who had the same problem and actually figured which key is which.... At the end, I hacked mine and the keys were back to normal..... The Line Out option is just all the volume up and no Bass; i haven't used the new functions yet........
