Guest Anonymous
I wish Sharp would sort out the problems I've found with their minidisc players. Mostly it appears to come to the end of its life not reading the minidiscs. Before its been cant readA but this time with my Sharp MDMT877 which i've had for 18 mths it suddenly doesn't recognise the disc has music on it, and it just says blank disc. It won't record either. I'm guessing the laser is knackered, unless anyone got any other ideas? I do use my minidisc players alot - pretty much every day, and in that respect I get alot out of them, but expect them to last a bit longer really. Other than the apparently short life of the laser I've had no problems with the sharp md players. I never get my md players fixed cos with the expense might as well buy a new one. So now I'm thinking about trying out Sony and seeing if it lasts longer. I've heard theres problems with minidiscs skipping or recording over themeselves though - i have experienced problems with parts of minidiscs just seeming to be wiped and no output - anyone know why?) SO... has anyone else had these kinds of problems with Sharp or Sony? Any opinions on the best make/models? and is there any way of trying to clean the laser or troubleshoot my current problem? What a pallaver. Shame md isnt so longlasting and durable as the tape format.
