Guest Anonymous
I've been asked to help a local student who has some irreplaceable audio recordings made on her MZN10. Well, they WERE on it! Due to finger trouble, she has deleted the important tracks. What's more, she has removed the disc from the machine. Is there ANY way this audio can be recovered? The TOC has been overwritten so I have warned her that it is unlikely. However, if I were to give her an answer, I'd be ever so popular!! Guest Anonymous
Very many thanks for replying. Sadly, my knowledge of Chinese is zero. Is there an English translation anywhere? As it stands, I have no idea what is on the page. Thanks again for helping.
Bazirker
Unfortunately, unless your friend has access to certain MD equipment that we know TOC tricks for, I think she's out of luck. I don't know of any way to rewrite TOC's using the N10. Scroll down just a little on this page and see if and of the TOC tricks can help you out. http://www.minidisc.org/part_hacking.html
Guest Anonymous
Hi Bazirka. Very many thanks for the link. One of the sections tells of TOC hacking on the MDS-JE520 which just happnes to be the model my sister has. I shall get hold of the deleted MD and attempt recovery on sissy's machine. I'm really grateful and hope the student is as well. Thanks again.
Guest Anonymous
Hi Bazirker An update - total success! I used my sisters JE520 and managed to recover the audio. There are a couple of glitches where it skippedd to other parts of the dsic but Cool Edit Pro on the PC will sort that out. Very many thanks for the info/link. You have made one young lady student very happy. Cheers Alan S.
Bazirker
Wait...someone actually managed to fix an erased TOC...hells yes! Sooooo many people get on and ask for solutions to unerase discs, and almost always the answer is no. That's awesome that someone managed to actually repair a TOC. I'm thrilled to hear that for once an erased disc got saved.
