lrdmora
1. I have a huge collection of Audible.com books that I have converted to MP3s. (I bought them, and will put them in any format I want!) I have heard the MDs have issues with transfering MP3s that are not digitally protected. Will I have problems transfering these files? 2. I read books out loud every night to my wife, and would like to record the readings for my future children and my family. I understand that I can buy a powered microphone that will use the optical port on this unit (510ck). Is this true, and how good is the recording? Also I only read for about an hour per night, can I use the same disk until it is full? Thank you very much for taking the time to read and reply to my post. Any help in answering these questions would be great!
pata2001
1. Just use Dino's Nero and NetMD simple burner trick. You can find it in the NetMD section of this forum. 2. If your mic is powered, then I think it should be okay. I have the N510CK, but never tried recording using the optical/line-in. The recording should be pretty good since the N510CK is a type S, which means that you get type R quality if recording in SP mode.
lrdmora
Thanks for replying, I have decided to wait until April and buy one of the new HiMD units. The cost is not that much more and the uploading capibility plus 1GB disks sounds perfect for my Audible books, since a twenty hour book is around 530MB.
