metafizz11
I have an MZ-R500 that is messing up. It will either say 'ERROR', 'NO DISK' if it doesn't play. If it does play, the seconds will tick over, and the music plays sporadically, or the second timer will stop and nothing will happen. Stop start stop start bahhh humbug... Soooo.... I put the unit into test mode, and checked the error codes. I got servo system errors 3 and 4, which are focus and spindle errors. Does anyone know a fix for this, or things to check :?: Taa. Guest Anonymous
Hmm, sounds like a dead spindle drive... Either the motor or the driver chip, the disc seems not to speed up properly... Hard to say from distance, but I say, this one needs to visit the service department.
metafizz11
Taa for the response Jadeclaw. Don't think I'll be sending it to the service department, as i think it'll make a good looking paperweight! Might have a go at trouble shooting it one day. Cheers, as you've given me a starting point.
