Guest Anonymous
Hi. I have a MZ-R500 minidisc player that I have had about 4-5 years. It was in perfect working condition up to approximately 5-6 months ago. I've tried doing the adjustments and resets in the service mode, and it seems to me that there is a problem with the minidisc player playback. When I insert a disk (that I know for sure there is stuff on it) the disk reads as empty, and when I attempt to record stuff onto the disk, it shows the disc spinning and recording (you can hear the servo working too), and after the disc is done recording, the time remaining on the disc is correct, and the "writing" stage seems to have be done correctly. However, upon immediate playback, the disk does not play, it freezes at 0:01 seconds. When the minidisc player is shut off and turned back on, the disk reads as empty. As forementioned in the part about my work in the service mode, I believe this is a problem with the playback, not the record, but I may be incorrect in this assumption. I have also checked disks for any bad clusters, but none were found. Help Please!!! Much appreciated. Regards, Fireball
