Guest Anonymous
Your Sharp has a mic jack, so this will work with your Sharp DR80 but it depends on what you want to use it for. The listing doesn't say stereo, and it does say for reporters, etc.; it also looks like just one microphone capule in a plug. You could email the seller and ask whether it's stereo, but it looks like it's a mono mic putting one channel through both sides of the stereo plug. That's fine for recording interviews, lectures, etc. But if you're recording music, a stereo mic, even a one-point stereo mic (two capsules in one enclosure) will give you a fuller sound. The direct plug into the MD looks cute but may pick up motor noise from the MD. Although Sharps are supposed to be fairly quiet, you can eliminate machine vibration entirely with a mic on a cord (or get an extension cord for this kind). That way, you can also keep the MD tucked away. The specs look like the basic Panasonic capsule everyone uses, which sound good. A binaural pair of mics would be preferable for music--there are some on Ebay now for about $20--but this will work.
