hi, i'm kinda new to the whole minidisk thing, but it rocks! i've been using a sony mz-r900 that i bought second hand in pristine condition a few months ago, i'm pretty sure no one's messed around with the service mode thing. recently, i dropped the player to the floor, in the street. the battery cover got kinda buckled, but the player was working fine. next day, the sound is coming out a bit weird, so i check everythings ok, and it seems that the problem is a mechanical one. the headphone jack feels different, a little more loose perhaps, and, whilst i still get sound in both speakers, it is alot weaker, and occasionaly cuts in back to 100% sound. is there any way i can get this fixed? plz help. (sorry for the incredibly long message...) blink.gif

cheers mate, but i managed to fix it over the weekend. i ended up cracking the case open, the insides look cool, but it had nothing to do with the insides,,, if anyone has the same problem, try using a saftey pin; make a small hook, at the end of the pin, then compare the insides of the jack(by looking in with a torch) with the mic and line in jack sockets, if a couple of connectors are missing from the side that are in the other two, try 'hooking' them out with your pin, it worked for me, and now i'm happy as larry.... or floyd,,,, or jerry, maybe even ethel!

cheers kurisu for the advice anyway.
