gilli_
Am considering purchasing a SHARP MT-280 for making field recordings. Any comments? It seems kinda inexpensive so I'm a little concerned it might not be up to the task? gilli_@o2.ie Mod edit: don't double post in the future. Your posts have been merged into one. [begin merge of post] Have spotted what seems to be a great deal on a SHARP MT-280 but when I tried to check out the specs/reviews on the web I couldn't find them anywhere.. I want to use my minidisc for making field recordings so my requirements are quite simple: (i) mic-in (not requiring seperate power) (ii) change recording level on the fly (iii) reasonable battery life when recording in SP would be nice & taking regular AA batteries inside the unit would be nice too since I won't always have access to a power outlet for recharging Anyone out there have one of these or perhaps have any info for me??? KJ_Palmer
Not sure if the MT280 has a mic in, but I believe it does. I have the MT290 which is in the MT270/280/290 series. It's a good budget model and will provide all your stated needs. (10 hours recording in SP mode). If you could get hold of the IM-DR420 it's only a little more expensive and has the new Auvi digital amp which gives a clearer sound (arguably) and NetMD as well as the MT290's facilities. Here's some specs: MD-MT270/290 IM-DR420 Cheers
