AgalsoffMD
So here's the deal. I have a MDMX4 machine but I can only record on two of the four trackes per channel. What is going on? I realize that normal MDs only allow two channels so I bought two different types of data disc to try and remedy my problem. I have a MMD140A data disc that only shows up 2 tracks ...... and, a MDD140 disc that does the same. Why can't I get 4 tracks? Does anyone know? And if not, do you have any suggestions as to where I can go for help? thanks!
Christopher
Before I continue into the realm of support, did you read the instruction manual? http://minidisc.org/manuals/sony/sony_mdm-x4.pdf btw - Welcome to the forums.
AgalsoffMD
Yeah, I have the manual and I've been reading all around it. I can't get 4 tracks to show up initially when I pop in the md. It's driving me crazy. The manual doesn't troulbeshoot this seeming error.
jjbraunius
if this is the four track version of the minidisk format then you need a special minidisk that handles that, not any audio store one would work. I think you can get one from Guitar Center. Here is a link to what you need http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=04...ase_pid/240645/
AgalsoffMD
I have two types of data disk and neither of them will show up as 4 tracks when I pop them into the machine. One of them says it's a Sony MMD140A and the other one is a HHB MDD140. What other reason would there be that 4 tracks won't show up? Is my machine just plain broken or is there a setting out of place? thanks for your help.
jjbraunius
as far as I remember the thing on those units there was a way to set the recording type so you might be in the setting for stereo 2 track recording. I don't have the manual handy but that should be it -- look into the recording part of the manual or check to see it isn't in "rehearsal mode" - some of those had an option to play back a regular minidisk so you can play on top of that. Good luck!
