DWest
I subscribed to a site and thought I could download files. Turns out they are on a server in real audio format. Any way to record these as they are playing? I can get permission to do so from site owner. thanks, David
A440
Stepvoice will record whatever's coming through your soundcard, streams included, as mp3s. Just make sure to avoid generating other sounds--"You've got mail," program noises--while you're recording. http://stepvoice.com/ To get rid of sounds permanently, go to Settings-->Control Panel-->Sounds and change them to (None) one by one. Ferenc
If your realaudio source is not streaming, that is, you are able to download it to your hard disk, I recommend Streambox Ripper. It converts to wav as well as to mp3. Info is available here: http://www.sonicspot.com/streamboxripper/s...mboxripper.html It is no longer supported, but you can download it, e.g., from here: http://streamboxripper.tk/
jjbraunius
Just select your audio cards output to be "Wav" or "Mixer" and then you can hookup any external audio source to the line out of your PC. Depending on your soundcard you'd get variable results. I used to get Real Audio files when I subscribed to Emusic - what you could do is use Real One player and burn CDs directly within it so you might want to look into that option if you're downloading the files and it is not real time streaming. You can also record your real time stream onto your PC and transfer it later -- you just have to pick the right source in the Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, Audio, Recording. With a bit of trial and error you'd get it.
atf487
I actually wouldn't suggest doing it, just because from .ram -> .mp3 -> MD wouldn't sound good enough to warrant the work involved. MAYBE if you can save it to .wav then it'd be worth it, but I'd just get the files off Bittorrent or something myself.
