m0zzie
woohoo, approx. 12 hours to go and i'll have my brand new n707. it's now just on 1am, it feels like christmas eve when i was younger. waiting for tomorrow to come really quickly.. alright, i'm going to sleep. i'll post back here probably around when it arrives, which will most likely also be when i wake up ps. i'm new to these forums and minidisc.. but i've been checking out minidisc.org and minidisc media for the past 12 months or so. i bought 2 different mp3 players hoping they'd be good but they sucked. poor battery life, and i'm not willing to fork out the kind of money that SD memory cards cost at the moment.. so i'm trying out minidisc. any suggestions and tips would be appreciated. also one question, do you guys suggest i apply the n707 "features hack" to my MD? i've read up on the features it adds, they sound pretty useful.. but i want to know from people who have done it or attempted it or whatever. -m0zzie.
KJ_Palmer
Congratulations on your new N707. It's still one of my all-time favourite recorders - I have the blue model, which is truly beautiful IMO. The N707 hack is worth it, I did mine almost as soon as I could, but please do be careful. One mis-pressed key and it could all end in tears . Even without the hack you'll have one of the best ever recorders in its class.
m0zzie
got it a little over an hour ago, just been installing DX9 and iceeedtea's rebuild of SonicStage 2.0, setting everything up, etc. just uploaded a bunch of music, and i have decided LOVE minidisc the sound is so much better quality than my mp3 player. i even had mp3 on my mp3 player at 192kbps and they sounded poor compared to MD at LP2.
