flagg6805
Hello All! I was hoping to get some advice on mic placement for miniature condenser mics. I just bought a pair of Microphone Madness' high end microphone (their MM-HLSC-2 HighLine "Sennheiser Driven" Cardioid Stereo Microphones to be exact). I'll be running these into a battery box and into my Sony MD recorder. My question is, what is the best setup for mic placement. I know that it all depends on the venue and the location, so let's say that most of my recording situations will be in fairly up close small bars to somewhat further away in medium sized clubs. Rarely will I be recording outdoors or in large venues. So, does anybody have any tips? Should I follow the same "standard" techniques generally recommended (ie, ORTF, NOS, A-B, X-Y, etc)? DOes any body have any experience with these techniques using mini mics? Thanks in advanced for any help and suggestions!
