You said that you fixed the problem by switching sonicstage to your default player, how exactly do you do that. I looked through teh settings, but I can't find anything to change it. I am having the exact same problem, and hopefully this will work.

(sorry, i was supposed to reply to a thread, but instead I made a new one.)

But, what I'm talking about is that everytime i try to put music into my md, it says that "Cannot convert the specified song. SonicStage doesn't support the file format of the song."

One person said that he/she just put sonicstage as his default player, and it worked, so I am trying to do teh same thing, but I can't figure out how to change it to my default player. So, if anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it.

 THANKS

Hi Nitan,

It was my post that I think you are referring to. I am using SonicStage 2.0, so earlier versions might be different. When I installed it, I was asked which file types I wanted associated with SonicStage 2.0. Since I didn't want it messing with other program/file associations, I only selected .omg files. I was also unable to convert any files to ATRAC.

My conversion problems were solved when I set defaults for .mp3 and .omg files in SonicStage. This was under:

Tools-->Options-->General-->Select File Types, and then select the appropriate files.

It seems dumb that it wouldn't work without doing this...poor software design. But it works now, and I happy with it.
