suland
Hi all, just wanted to ask who knows about the compatibility of Atrac3plus with the Atrac3(MDLP) compatible players. I have an MDLP Stereo in my car and used the MDLP. Now the new format of Atrac3plus (HI-MD) coming and I am really interested in it. But would my car-stereo play this new HI-MD? Checked the leading manufacturers and no one represents anything with HI-MD in it. Thanks in advance.
jay_zhead
No, the new format will not be playable by old equipment.
suland
So, does anyone know the brand of car-stereo which has Atrac3plus in it promoted? I would say it MUST be a stereo with atrac3plus!
Spare Tire
You can always record in atrac3 with an atrac3+ recorder. Well i think you can. I don't think atrac3+ will give you much an amelioration, coded wise. Except for the non-loss mode, the rest should be about the same thing. It's the size of the disc that matters. You can, however, record MDLP or just SP mode compatible MDs with new units too (over line-in, mic, optical or sonicstage).
