teitoku Posted May 4, 2004 Report Share Posted May 4, 2004 Hello all, I've become interested in minidisc players and since my mp3 player was fried by a mis-wired USB port, I'm looking to buy a MD recorder/player. Is there anything you can tell me about the sony 610 unit other than it's got am/fm/tv/weather (pretty cool)? Any downsides I should know? Any suggestions for better units in that price range? It's a pretty solid unit; I actually saw one for the first time last week and it wasn't as flimsy as I had once thought. You do know the limitations of MD, right? teitoku Posted May 7, 2004 Author Report Share Posted May 7, 2004 All I know is that you have to use sony software to convert to atrac3 first, and there's some checkin/checkout limitation on how many copies of a song you can write to discs. Anything else I need to know? Also, any better player suggestions? All I really need is a solid portable audio player, decent sound (going to use puny earphones), and AM or TV tuner would also be cool but not absolutely necessary.
