Hi-MD head units/changer

Has anyone got any info on the chances of Sony bringing out a car stereo with HI-md capabilities (or a Hi-md multichanger)? This sector of the market is obviously suited to the new format as you wouldn't have to lug around all your original cd's in the car and could compact it all down to a few hi-mds.

There is no information on Hi-MD head units at this time. This has been discussed before; please try searching in the future before asking a question.

p.s. I wasn't trying to mark this as being redundant, but I'm also making sure that people get the message that we're not really interested in answering the same questions over and over. You private messaged me with a response criticizing my actions, and I can see that I may have come off too strongly - I apologize for that. Nonetheless, I do recall a thread discussing Hi-MD car units, but I can't find it..

I do welcome discussion captain-kidd, otherwise I wouldn't dedicate myself so much to this forum.

wacko.gif Well its been a year (to the day!) since my original post and still no official word from Sony on a Hi-md car head unit - unless anyone knows any different? I've had quick look through the other posts on the same topic - and still no glimmer of hope. The only straw that I'm clutching at is that Sony are phasing out their current MD head units (there are slowly dissapearing from Sony.co.uk), is this to make way for a Hi-Md range????

Hi Captain, It seems like it could be a while, until it happens you can always use the Hi MD as a feed unit for whatever audio system you have right now( IE, use an adapter cassette, FM transmitter, or line in/out cable)

Hopefully Sony or someone makes a deck soon, many would be sold.

Bob
