dano
Have a wierd problem... I just bought a MZ-NE410 unit and am having software issues. I have a machine at home with Windows XP Pro, and am having issues ripping CD tracks directly off either of my CD drives. I first installed the version of the software that came with the unit, Version 1.5U. After installing the software I was able to easily connect to the player and record some MP3s that I had on my machine. After playing these MP3s, back through the headphone, there was absolutely no problem. I then wanted to see how good a real CD track would sound, and placed a CD in one of two CD writers. The software checked the performance of the drive, and provide a track list. The CDDB even worked, and I got a good list of songs. I selected the tracks I wanted to bring over and hit the REC >> button to bring them over. The CD started spinning very briefly, and then stopped...I got the error "A problem occurred when reading the audio CD". I screwed around with the software some more, and then completely un-installed it...registry entries, left over folders and all. I re-installed and installed like 3 more times. Fed up, I went to work and downloaded the 2.0 version of the SS and Simple Burner software. Did a full un-install of the old software and installed the new. The same issues, I can record MP3s no problem, but when it comes to ripping a track (Simple Burner) I get "Recording failed. A problem occurred when reading the audio CD" I have tried changing CD writer drivers, changing DMA settings on the CD Writers and screwing around with BIOS settings to no avail. I think that there might be something in the registry that I could try to edit, just not sure what to try. Hopefully someone has seen something like this, and has ideas to help...if not I will have to return this player, which has cool hardware... Thanks for your help in advance, Dan DeMerchant
alieninhead
Are you trying to rip the whole CD using Simple Burner or use Sonic Stage it's self? They're two seperate apps, I'm just trying to figure out what you're doing here.. At the very worst, do you have a MP3 ripper that'll do at least 192 KPS? You could always rip to MP3s and import to Sonic Stage... ~a.i.h.
dano
I am unable to Rip either the whole CD or just one track with either application. Either application refuses to read the track data off either of my CD drives. Everything goes well up to the point where I get an error message. In Simple Burner 2 I get the error ""A problem occurred when reading the audio CD". In Sonic Stage 2.0 I get the error "An error has occurred while preparing to record the CD. Please try again." Wierd because the CD drives are working perfectly, and I am able to play a CD off either of them. Thanks for your consideration.
dano
Well, I spent a whole day fiddling with the machine to no avail. The Sony software is just pretty lame, and I decided to just eliminate the problem. I bought a copy of the Real Player with the Burning utility built in and added the MD transfer plug in. The burning and transfers work great...and a direct track burn at the high sampling rate sounds excellent. Just wish Sony would give me a refund for their crappy software... Thanks for your help...if you think of any other thing I can try to get the Simple Burner working, that would be helpful... Dan
Christopher
When you did a full uninstall of the Sony software, you did do it accordingly with the directions in the NetMD faq, correct? I would also download Simpleburner 2.0 only [as it is stand-alone] and see what your success is. Make sure you reboot after installation!
