CAFC
I want to record live music but every time i record it only records to the left side or my earphones when i play it back, you can only hear the right side vaguely. I'm using a sony MZ-N710, with a hitachi HMP 606 Microphone Any ideas on how to record equally into both ears? Thanks Tom
A440
You must be using a mono mic. See if it has one ring or two on the plug--compare it to your stereo headphone plug (or the pic under A440 here). One is mono--it's only going in one channel. Get a stereo mic and your problem will be solved. If it is a stereo mic then there's a problem with your mic jack.
KJ_Palmer
If it's a stereo mic, make sure the jack is pushed all the way into the mic input socket. If it's a mono mic, you can still record equally into both channels using the mono recording mode of your N710.
BJ
I think the HMP 606 is a mono mic (from what I could dig up on the web, anyway). So recording in Mono mode will solve your problem--and double your record time! Bonus!
