casemd
I have had a portable MD for a while. My last one has MDLP capability and I love the fact that I have 5 CDs on one MD! However, in order to record I always have to use my PC. What I am looking for is the option to record direclty from my CD-changer (an older 50 disc model but with optical out) to MDs in LP format. I love to make random discs from my changer by running it in shuffle mode through 50 CDs. I think this player would be able to help me make random MDLP discs; Sony MDS-JE480 http://ecoustics.pricegrabber.com/search_g...masterid=860177 for $144-ish Do you think that would work or do you guys have a better idea? Thanks!
KJ_Palmer
Yes, the JE-480 deck would certainly be fine for your needs. You might also try looking for a MXD-D5C which has a built-in 5 disc changer, or an MDS-JE780 or JB980 deck which have keyboard inputs for easy titling. casemd
Thanks for the quick reply. If I can record using the optical in/out I think the track info is automatically recorded too, right? On my older player, not in LP mode, if I would record using optical it did also add the track info. Other than the link I added, are there any good US sources for any of the other players? Thanks again.
KJ_Palmer
No problem, you're very welcome. Yes, the track marks are copied over when using the optical link. The sponsors for this site, minidisco.com, audiocubes.com are good sources for much minidisc equipment, as are Sony Centres etc...
