DomConway
Just installed SS2 (from http://www.minidisc.org/download/ss20e/) on a brand new machine, then hooked up my MZ-N1 and it's only being recognised as "unknown USB device". So it doesn't look like SS2 installed the drivers, which I thought it was supposed to?? Not had a chance to install the drivers seperately, will do so this evening, but was wondering why this might have happened?
Christopher
It says in his FAQ that the drivers for this unit are included, so I'm not sure what's up. How did it go, regardless?
DomConway
Turns out it was a bit of a false alarm - the problem was with my unit, not with SS2/drivers... I checked the display on the N1 and "PC->MD" wasn't showing as it should have been, and the disc graphic was constantly rotating like it does for a short time when you insert a disk. Took the battery out, left it for ten mins then tried again and all was OK...
Christopher
Good to hear. This isn't the first time this has happened, though [i've troubleshot similiar situations and it ended up being the battery]; I don't understand why Sony's software will fail like this upon a battery problem and NOT indicate that it's such..
