ParadoX
Hello all, I'm new here as many other ppl who've asked questions I've searched on many sources and never found any answer to my question so I'll try to describe the entire problem to you. Thank you in advance, wheter the suggestions are working or not =) So here, last summer I had an easy problem with my NetMD MZ-N707: the sound was freaking out because of a bad connection inside the MD (too much space between the plastic and the electronic device). I've fixed this after I've been bored of always holding the MD Then it started freaking up again... so I've redone the same fix and everything was ok but suddenly in the bus, I had problem with my volume. I wouldn't increase or decrease anymore. No error message given. I've checked in the MD back but w/o any success. It still worked. And a night when I wanted to hear music, it was still working until I change disk and thereafter, it totally stoped working and it gave me the "NV Error" message. Urf ? What's NV ? No hint in the manual or over the net on this. Nothing on the forums. I've checked "every" connection in the MD even trying to disconnect and reconnect them. Nothing. I still get this "NV Error" every time I push a button on the unit. I think it's something with the button & lcd panel. When I insert a MD, sometimes the unit detects it and shows the duration. Some other times it displays BLANK MD or something like that. I've tryed many single things but it always failed. I deeply want my MD back... 6 months w/o music ! Before sending it to a tech, I'd like to know if there's something more I can try to fix my baby Thank you again guys (or girls)
BJ
Did you hack your 707 at all? And if not, can you try? The NV Error sounds like something in the 707's software, and from the little I dug around, it seems that resetting the machine's defaults might actually help. If you can get into service mode, that is. That's all I have to offer--sorry!
ParadoX
Nop... : still nothing is working What I've tried: 1st: 707 Hacking - FAILED 2nd: 707 NV Reset - FAILED I've tried to reconnect everything inside but it also provided no positive result other than the same /$( NV Error I'd like to know, if possible: when you're in the service mode, when shifting between each categories, should the lense be moving left or right ? because on my side, it only moves a bit up and down like if it was focusing : I still can get the "No disc" message I wonder if when I was trying to fix my MD prior to finding this forum I may have wrecked something with the lense... I hope not /me looks down then turns to his MD and continues to test things BTW, Thank you BJ for you help it is greatly appreciated *** UPDATE *** I finally got this baby reading my discs, weeeeeeeeeee. But I still get the NV Error each and everytime I push a button on the unit other than in the service mode or on hold (which displays HOLD) It works (reading the name of the disc and the groups) when I insert disc. Then it shows the name, the length, etc. After this it shows "GROUP ON" as if the button was stuck (which it is not) and then goes auto off normally Anyone has a clue ? Again: thanks
ParadoX
Anyone knows how to manually disable the group fonction while in the Service mode since it won't via the group button (it displays the NV Error) I just want to disable it but not in a permanent way... just to see if it solves my problem. Ex: do the same as if I was pressing the Group button for about 3 seconds. Thx I also sent a mail to sony hoping they'll answer this question.
