MZ-G750 audio problem when playing md's

Hi all,

Found this forum while trying to find a solution to my problem.

When playing the radio the audio is fine. When playing the MD's the audio cuts in and out when i wiggle the remote/audio jack (both sides). Strange cos its just with the md's. I plugged the headphones straight into the audio jack and the problem is still there.

So i know the problem isnt the remote. I touched all the points the audio jack + remote points with a soldering iron incase the problem is a dry joint. But it must be another point on the board (its not the audio jack).

I've printed off the sevice manual, but im non techincal so cant read the circuit diagrams.

Anybody out there who know where the dry joint is? The circuit that the md plays through.

Any help much appreciated.

It's hard to tell, really, but I think it's just a loose headphone jack. I've seen this before with similar models, unfortunately. I know that you can order the part from Sony for a small fee, but unfortunately I can't recall the name of the part. Hrm, I do know of this site: servicesales.sel.sony.com/web/index.jsp

..but after a quick browse I didn't see what would help you. Maybe you should call that parts department, and ask for such..
