thomasraden Posted July 11, 2004 Report Share Posted July 11, 2004 I have a Sony MZ-N10 which has a rather noisy mic preamp for my taste, both in high and low amp modes. I tried different microphone types with no better results. I'm mainly recording classical vocal music. I'm thinking about upgrading to the newer NH1 HI-MD model, but is there any improvement in the amplifier in the mic input on this new model? Keep an eye on this forum. Alternatively you can use an external amp like the Reactive Sounds Boost Box: http://www.reactivesounds.com/spa2.php If you are good with a soldering iron, you may build one yourself, numerous example circuits are available on the web.
