Hi folks,

I own a MZ-R700, purchased used. So far I've only used it to make live recording and playback through the machine itself or through my stereo.

Now I'd like to be able to download music through Media Player, Real Player, whatever. I cannot get Media Player or Real Player to detect the device. The MD screen says NO SIGNAL. The softwares say they cannot detect a device. I've downloaded "open mg jukebox". From what I've read on this site there are no additional drivers to download. I also went to the control panel>sounds and audio devices>audio tab- and tried to change default. It is currently MD-Port DG2, but the only other option is "Creative SB Live!" Any suggestions????

Also, after pouring through this site (thanks for the info) it seems a few of my assumptions about the player were wrong.

Is it true that I can only upload in analog-real time?

Is it true that downloads, although digital, will also take a long time??

Thanks for the site and info.

Best Regards,

Martin

1. Yes

2. Yes, recording is in real-time.

Your MD unit is not NetMD compatible, you cannot connect it to the computer via USB and use realone/openMG etc... to download music to your MD.

The only way you can record music is via the inputs of your device which are microphone (red), Line in [(white, used to record from the analogue or digital output of your sound card or your DG2 (I think it acts as a soundcard itself.)]
