wako
The last MD player I had was the MZ-750 or something like that. Which I dont use anymore because it was always a pain recording the music and was a pain to that you couldnt load the music back into the your PC. The last time I checked the MD scene it was said that Sony will be producing a MD player where you can load the songs BACK into the PC. I was wondering how that came along. Is there a player like this yet? Would this be the Hi-MD that it seems everyone is raving about? If it isnt the Hi-MD anyone know when and what the technology will come out and is called? Thanks
Ppk3000
Yeah there's a full scale line-up of recorders and players. Here is the equipment info link: http://www.minidisc.org/part_Hi-MD_Sony.html Most places only have the MZ-NH600 out for sale. But the NH700/F800/900/1 will come late july/early august (or late august for the higher range... ). As of the present time, they can transfer songs back to the PC. But you can't freely use the data as it's still encrypted. However, it seems like someone at Sony finally realized the complaints and confusion: restricting the free use of self-recorded uploads back to the PC is a mistake. According to this recent news post, Sony will release a tool to allow us to convert analog recordings into fully unlocked WAV data... of course most of us would want this tool out now... :whatever:
wako
awesome I also heard before that MD's are going to be replaced soon by the discs that the Sony PSP will use. Is that true?

Not that I know of in the audio section. Plus I know little about Sony other than a bit of Playstation and a little portable audio.
