Hendrix828
Hello, I need some help please!! I just recorded a live set on Thursday night. I recorded it on my Sony MZ-N707 recorder. It came out GREAT,almost just as good as a soundboard recording. I recorded the show in LP2 mode. BUT,I want to transfer it to CD. My problem is that when I put the disc in my standalone Kenwood MD player/recorder,I can't get any sound out of it?? I put in other MD's in the Kenwood player to see if it was maybe the players problem, and they all played fine. BUT all the MD's I played were recorded in SP mode. Would this maybe be the problem, that my set can't play anything recorded in LP Mode?? I can play the live concert I recorded fine on the Sony player, but it can't play sound on my Kenwood!! The MD does play on the Kenwood, but it has no sound!! Anybody know what the problem may be?? As you may know,my Sony DOES NOT have a Line Out port,so my Kenwood is the only means I can transfer MD-CD!! That's the whole reason why I bought it. I recorded the concert on a Sony Premium Gold MD in LP2 Mode. If that helps at all?? Please,I need help!! Thank You
Christopher
What's the model number of the Kenwood unit?

Bananatree
While the MD-2070 looks like a very feature rich deck, I belive it pre-dates MDLP and isn't compatible.

Okay here's another question,is their any new models out that has a LINE OUT port that I can use to transfer to CD. A product that also supports LP2,LP4 mode?? Hendrix828
What's your maximum budget?I'm willing to go $300-$450!! Isn't this great, what's sad is all I need this for is just to have a Line Out port Thank You Sony for not including that on my MD Recorder!! Christopher
Sony MDS-JE770 Type-R DSP MiniDisc Deck ..or you could get a Hi-MD unit, which has the capability to play back MD/Hi-MD audio over usb [which you can capture in realtime with another program such as cooledit, audacity, etc]. I would recommend the NH900 or NH1, as it's feature-rich capabilities are within your budget and will most likely appeal to you most. Our sponsor, minidisco, carries these units and they will be available quite soon [click on portables].

I actually don't want to capture it to computer,I've been been transfering my MD's directly to CD with my Pioneer Home CD Recorder.
Dr_What
Excellent, why does everyone assume that you have to go through a computer... Of course you can use the headphone jack on your N707 as a substitute for a line out. Just turn bass off and the volume up to maximum (or less if distortion sets in). It should be OK for MDLP recordings. A higher end MD recorder like the Sony N920 has a better line-out mode (also through the headphone jack).
