verbal
I'm a beginner when it comes to mics and recording. I'd like to get a general purpose omnidirectional mic but I have no idea which to consider. My main use will be for recording conversations with friends. Obviously most conversations will be in a room or close quarters. But some won't. Like this weekend, a few friends and I will be going golfing. We all suck at golf so we have a hilarious time. I was thinking about cliping a microphone to the canopy of the golf cart and hopefully pick up everything said within a certain radius of the golf cart. I have no idea which mic to get for this. I was considering... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5713030681&rd=1 but I'm not sure if they're any good. Can anybody recommend a good mic for this use? Christopher
Hello there, and welcome to the forums. What's your maximum budget? I wouldn't want to give a recommendation that would break the bank, so to speak.
verbal
Hello there, and welcome to the forums. What's your maximum budget? I wouldn't want to give a recommendation that would break the bank, so to speak.Right now, I'd like to spend no more than $50, give or take a little. Not looking for anything high end yet. Just something omnidirectional, that doesn't need a battery box (or a cheap one), that will pick up someone talking from a few feet away, clips/windscreens, and can maybe handle a little abuse. Christopher
Perhaps this? http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/...d/item/SP-BMC-2 The only drawback is that the clips cost $20 extra. Maybe you could fashion your own. I'm really not too keen on mics and such so perhaps someone else will chime in.
Reactive
If I can recommend this: http://www.minidisco.com/am-1.html It's a quality built rugged performer that will give you years of reliable service, and you most likey won't need to upgrade. (comes with a secure mount clip too I hope this helps?
