Ana T.
Hello to everyone! I've bought at last my new stereo tv, and of course I started do record with my MZ-N505, but I saw that the sound level would just go to 3 sometimes 4. Then I remember to conect the tv to the AUX of my stereo, and now the sound level reaches 5! Just last monday I recorded Ben Harper's last concert here in Portugal. My question, well it's 3 (yes after all this I do have one), are: 1-Does the sound in the MD that I record continues to be STEREO? 2-Will the quality of the soud improve if a change to MANUAL RECORDING? 3-What's the diference in MANUAL RECORDING and AUTO. Thanks (or Obrigada) to anyone that answers this topic.
Mat
1. Depends what format are you recording in. If im right, SP & LP2 will remain stereo, LP4 will be joint stereo, and mono of course is mono. You need to clarify what you mean by AUTO RECORDING. Does it refer to Sync rec? or recording volume? or something else?
A440
Are you recording out of the headphone jack of your stereo? If you have a good amplifier and turn it up you should be able to get a louder signal. If you're going from a stereo headphone jack into your line-in jack with a stereo cord, you should be recording in stereo with SP, LP2 or L4 or mono in MONO. But it's possible that some TV programs are still in mono. Manual recording means you set the level, and the instructions are on page 31 of the user manual here: http://www.minidisc.org/manuals/sony/sony_...n505_manual.pdf Auto recording lets the machine set the level. You should try both and see which works best. How did you record a concert on the MZ-N505? With a preamp or battery box, or a powered mic? Just curious. Ana T.
Well the way i record the concerts, is like at this, at the time in a portuguese television chanel called SIC RADICAL, they are showing some live concerts from the music festival Rock In Rio, that happend on the portuguese capital Lisbon. What i do is connect a 2/1 cord from my stereo(by setting it in AUX) to the headphone of the tv, then the minidisc line in jack is connected to the head phone of the stereo, with a 1/1 cord. But REALLY live concerts, I mean being in one recording it, never. I'am a small town girl, so concerts only in tv or dvd. They are usually in Lisbon, wich is far from where i live. One amateur question: What's the diference between stereo and joint stereo?
