ZeusRex
I wasn't sure where to post this, but here's what I found after lots of searching: http://cdtext.galleytech.com/MANAGER.HTM This free program called CD-Text Manager reads CD text information and saves it for use by SonicStage and Simple Burner. Or it should! I can't quite get it to work with Simple Burner, so I'm trying to contact to the author. If I can get the program to work, here's what should happen: 1. Make a compilation of MP3 files that have ID3 tags. 2. Create a virtual audio CD using Nero Burning software and Dino's posted method...and check the option for saving CD Text to the virtual CD. 3. Mount the virtual drive, and open the CD-Text Manager program. This reads the song name and artist info from the virtual CD and saves it to the hard drive. 4. Open MD Simple Burner and select the virtual CD on the hard drive. It should find the CD text info on the hard drive and fill in the song labels. 5. Transfer the songs to the MD player with the labels. It should make MP3 transfer with labels fairly easy, but step 4 is not working for me. Simple Burner is not finding the info on my hard drive and looking vainly on CDDB. Has anyone else tried this program with success? I'm using Win2000 SP4, MD Simple Burner 2.0. Thanks! ZeusRex
Ok, I just received a reply from the author, and it seems his program only works with Simple Burner 1.x, because of the silly way SB 2.0 saves CDDB information. To add insult to Sony's ridiculous software, Simple Burner and SonicStage don't share the same local CDDB database, and Simple Burner saves its data in a temp file that gets erased by most hard drive cleaners. Yikes. Does anyone know where to find a copy of Simple Burner 1.x?
