Munvader
Hello! I have a short question about the batteries of the Hi-MDs: The 600 uses AA´s, but what batteries are 700-800-900 using? Is it a nice, flat MD-battery that can be taken out (as of my R90), or is it a built in cell that can´t be switched (damn, I hate Apple for introducing those!)? Thanks, Olof
Christopher
Welcome to the forums. They do indeed use the same gumstick in which your R90 employs. If you're seeking extras, make sure to get 1400 - 1450mAh.
Munvader
Thanks for welcoming me and even more thanks for tha answer, it was exactly what I wanted to hear! The person who invented the built-in-battery should burn in hell. //Olof
Qwakrz
the 900 is the one that uses the gumstick, the 700 & 800 still have a bulge
jadeclaw
the 900 is the one that uses the gumstick, the 700 & 800 still have a bulgeAnd using standard rechargeable AA-cells. A 700mAh cell is included, aftermarket suppliers offer up to 2300mAh.
oluv
what is the strongest gumstick available for the 900? included is 900 mAh i think, but i saw them up to 1400. are there even ones with bigger capacity?
Christopher
1450mAh is the max, but the differences between that and the 1400mAh are very slim.
paladin41699
This is kind of funny. I just registered so I could ask this same question.(i'm ususally a lurker) So the nh900 can take the sony nh-14wm batteries? While I would love the magnesium body of the nh1 and the cool remote, the lame battery life of the Li-Ion cell doesn't do it fo me... To bad they had to use Li-Ion... Also, as a side note, can one use the rechargeable nimh AA cells that sony manufactures in the "dry-cell" case? Not to get off the subject, but do you think that the nh-900 will be compatible with sony's worldwide ac adapters? I'm going to japan, so i'll need the 100V 60mhz ability of the worldwide adapter. Thanks.

Not to get off the subject, but do you think that the nh-900 will be compatible with sony's worldwide ac adapters? Most likely yes, although it would be good if someone could confirm this for me. As long as it's 3v and the proper specs, you should be okay.
paladin41699
Thanks for the fast reply Kurisu. So the nh-900 comes with a 900 mAh battery but accepts 1400 mAh batteries? I was looking for the nh-10wm battery online but could barely find any mention of it. It's nice to know that I can get a larger capacity one. I could get one of those sony worldwide charging cradles for the battery, and just bypass the ac adapter and charging stand altogether.... Christopher
Don't bother with the NH-10wm. Refer to the batteries mentioned in this thread: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=5672
