yokohama70
how's it going? i have found that mini discs recorded on my Sony MDS JE-330 home deck playback on the deck & my Sony MZ NE-410 portable player. however, all the mini discs that were recorded on the portable NetMD via Sonic Stage do not work on the MD deck unit. i suspect the ATRAC-3 encoding or Sonic Stage software is not compatible with the home MD deck. has anyone run into this? i have read through both the manuals, without any success. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you Tom
aeriyn
The MD deck you are using does not support MDLP. That's why it doesn't work; you can't really record SP with SonicStage. You can record "fake SP" (i.e. resampled LP2) with NetMD for compatibility purposes, but... ugh. What would be the point? It'd still be as lossy as LP2 with SP's larger size. yokohama70
thanks Cori so far the similar posts suggest that it is MDLP vs. non-MDLP in-compatiblity. it is not a major deal. i just noticed it few days ago. i can play CD-R/RW on my Sony DVD player. thank you for your advice tom
