dave_bass5
I wanted to transfer a disc from my MZ-N1 using SS2.1, all seemed to be going well but after it had finished i ended up with a blank disc and no files transfered even though SS2.1 said all was ok. I sort of understand why the disc was blanked (not happy though) but where did the transfered files go. Ive looked everywhere and they are not on my PC. This was not the PC the tracks originated from but i would have expected at least a warning before i lost every thing. Not happy Dave. Qwakrz
If I read that correctly, You were trying to transfer audio tracks from the N1 to your PC If that is the case, the N1 CANNOT transfer files in that direction. It will move a marker to say that the tracks have been checked in but the file will not come with it. The only MD's that will do that are Hi-MD's running in Hi-MD mode, they will NOT do it in NetMD mode. It is possible that SS2.1 thought it was transfering the files & so deleted each one when it was done (the same as checkin normally does). dave_bass5
Yep, thats about it. what gets me is it didnt stop me or warn me whereas it stops me from doing anything usful. Piece of crap. Ive hadMD units since they first came out and a net MD since that came out but its the first time ive used SS2 and look what happened. Dave. RichM
Sorry to be critical but did you expect SonicStage 2.1 to overcome the NetMD hardware limitation of one way audio transfers, where SonicStage 1.5 or it's predecessors could not. A limitation that Hi-MD is marketed to overcome and largely does. I know some people have been mislead by Sony's dubious marketing into believing transfers were possible in both directions with SonicStage, but prudence is called for when subjecting possibly irreplaceable music to a possibly destructive process. dave_bass5
RichM i take your point but as ive not much experiance with SS2.1 and it was playing my files through the PC i thought it would work. as it was it did indeed transfer the first track. Ok now i dont know how but it did. i cant prove it but will look into it. Dave
