toad
Yeah,I just bought a used 920 deck off of e-bay and started playing it today and it skips. It skips more towards the end of the discs. This model just has SP mode, and that's the mode on the discs I'm putting into the player. Any tips on cleaning ect.?
Christopher
You could try a disc cleaner..did the seller mention anything about faulty playback? Send him an e-mail just to make sure.

toad
Well I think I've got it figured out. my JB-920 dosen't like 80 min. discs! I did some recording on a 74min disc from a portable, stuck it back in the 920 and it sounds great. Have you ever heard of that? thanks again for your reply. This whole 80 min blanks incompatibility issues is very weird, I've never heard of it for any unit. In fact, my MZ-R30 (quite older than you JB-920) plays and records on 80 min disks just fine, and so did my previous deck (JE510).
toad
No I haven't tried recording on it yet. my main reason for for a home deck is the optical out. I record from XM radio to my portable MD, away from home, then I want to upload from MD to my standalone CD burner.
