grass
Hi there to you all, I'm very new here, just registered; nice 2 meet u all!!! I need something to record and sample sounds around, probably to make some soundfonts, and record live gig, or something like that, obtaining a good quality record. I thought that solid state recorders would fit properly, but it seems they are very very expensive... From what I can gather, Mini Disc seem to be the most diffused and affordable way to record in a very good way. But, there's something I really don't understand; transferring recorded digital data to the PC seems to be a huge problem!!! :whatever: What kind of audio file format do you obtain once downloading the audio file to the PC? Isn't it a standard wav file? Gee, I've seen that newest SONY Hi-MD let you connect the device to the PC via USB, but I've noticed lots of trobles in simply trnsferring audio data to the PC. Can u give me some more information? Thanx a lot in advance. Mirco G.
Christopher
Welcome to the forums! Upload is easy: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=5858 ..and soon we will have a program, released by Sony, that will convert uploaded [the real method] files into *.wav. As it stands, the uploaded files are not *.wav and you cannot alter them.
