lyndon1904
I gave himdrenderer a try this afternoon, having downloaded SonicStage 2.1. Sound quality (after writing to CD) is very impressive - so much more like a commercial CD than when using .wav files recorded with an analogue cable. My files tend to be quite large - about 40Mb. They work fine, apart from the ends, where either a) the final chord of a piece cuts off half way through or it repeats. I believe that this is being worked on. In the meantime, I've found an acceptable compromise (no doubt others have done so before me). I use either Cool Edit (quite old now) or the software that goes with my (Soundblaster Audigy) soundcard: having uploaded the sound files via the USB cable, I simply play them in Sonicstage and record them either in Cool Edit or the 'Creative Recorder' that came with the sound card. I simply click on the Windows recording controls on the taskbar and select either .wav or ''what u hear" (which may be just a Soundblaster thing) - as the recording input. The results are not QUITE as good as Himdrenderer at its best, but seem to me to be a great deal better than .wav files I've created in the past by simpy playing a minidisc connected to the sound card via a cable...
