New Official Sony PSP Remote and Battery Charger

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. announced on Jun 13, 2005 that they will release a black variant of the PSP remote/headphone (PSP-140B) and an external battery charger (PSP-190) for the PSP on July 14, 2005. The new peripherals will cost 3,675 yen and 2,940 yen respectively.

The PSP-140B is virtually identical to its original white version.

The PSP-190 battery charger charges the standard PSP battery in about 1 hr and 35 minutes.

Update: According to Game Watch, the new PSP-190, Battery Charger only charges approximately 22% faster than charging from the main PSP unit. Although this is about 25 minutes quicker, it's fair to state that it's not significant enough to warrant an instant splurge of 3,675 yen (about $30 USD) - that's almost one full game title.
