Does someone know how the shuffle mode works. I have about 100 songs on my minidisk, but I think it is repeating before playing them all. I do need to change the battery prior to getting through all of the songs and was wondering if this resets it.

Hmm I am puzzled. I've got an mznhf800 so i decided to test your problem using an MD with 61 tracks

1)

Repeat: OFF

I cycled through all the tracks and noted the numbers, each appeared once.

No Unwanted Repeats

2)

Repeat: ON

First 61 tracks, each appeared once. Next 61 tracks, each appeared once (but in a completely different order)

No Unwanted Repeats

3)

Repeat: ON

Did about 20 tracks then took out battery for a while. Continued up to 61 tracks after replacing battery, each appeared once.

Started repeating as normal after the 61st. No Unwanted Repeats

So, I really don't know what on earth is causing your behaviour

Unless the battery was out for a really long time or something??

Or you took out the MD or changed play settings, can't think of anything else!

There is a disc memory mode on the players. Perhaps turning this on or off changes the behaviour of shuffle playback in the same way that it makes the player forget which track you were last listening to.

thats a good point, the recorder is a complex piece of kit and who knows how changing one thing affects another seemingly unrelated thing. I might have a play with disc mem later, see if i can get this to happen to me.

When you say you had repeat on, I assume you meant shuffle with repeat and not just play all in order and start again.

sorry didn't make it clear, yes I had shuffle on for all the tests and repeat on too for some. I will try disc mem as I said, when i get chance!
