  1. I've just finally given in and moved over to SSCP and have exactly the same problem. Not just with the alphabetisation of the albums, but also the artists. One more annoyance in an almost full year of being subjected to these appalling attempts at software creation. If my music collection was MP3 I'd use WinAmp, but I'm largely WMA. Ho hum...
  2. Given that Real Networks has had a strategic partnership with Sony since 2002 (see here) anyone have any clues as to when they might be inclined to add support for the newer devices? I know Real Player isn't brilliant but it'd be an improvement on SS/CP. Well I reckon it would be anyway...
  3. I reckon that's what he'd claim (but deep down secretly mean it, in a Freudian sort of way), but sander151187's? Maybe I'll try again one day. Unfortunately I have high expectations of software to work first time, which is probably why I'm so totally hacked off with Sony's insulting attempts! I can dream, can't I?
  4. Two suggestions come to mind immediately: 1. Don't junk the UI, but at least give the users the option of turning it off and using the standard Windows one. I have the same gripe with iTunes - customised interfaces slow down the program itself (we can't all upgrade at every available opportunity) and, frankly, I'd rather be able to choose Sony's/Apple's one rather than be forced to use it. 2. Turn it into a plug-in so it can still work with Sony's own software, but also as an extension to WMP/Explorer [fat chance I know, but it;s be nice...]
  5. GYM was so awfully complicated to get going that I deleted it before it'd even started. ML_Sony is OK, if you use Winamp and *only* use MP3. Since I (and presumably the vast majority of users) know about as much about writing software as I do about flying to the moon, suggesting assisting the great open-source development is pretty redundant. So all we can do is hope that those with the knowledge can do it for us. And my requests to creators/writers of both are: GYM - make it simpler to set up ML_Sony - WMA support? And the big request to the world in general - Windows Media Player plug-in, please...? Pretty please...? I'll be your bestest fwend... :-)
