Don't give up just yet - here are some ideas: - If you are good at getting it (the case) open the second (overwrite) head may be bent or stuck in the path of the insertion. Probably dead to all intents and purposes. - battery or power circuits may be fried (probably you tried running on the charger, to eliminate that possibility) - one or more disks are ruined possibly because something is wrong, and you are trapped in a vicious circle (as I described at the outset) - most likely, the overwrite head's ribbon cable got busted. Many discussions here, we'll point you to those in due course

MZ R900 will not read disc.Always get disc error-it chunders and clicks for about a minute. Any suggestions or is it now a paperweight? Shame as the case is vgc. cheers Paul

I have acquired one of the above,it has the digital media port plug on the end of it. Is there available a conversion plug to enable it to plug into a USB port? If not is it possible to cut it off and replace with a usb plug? If not anyone want a useless bit of kit! regards Paul

The cradle has arrived and is not a u3 or u5! it is a TDM-NW1 which has a digital media plug on the end...... Nice paperweight unless you know of a digital media plug to usb converter!

I have aquired a mds-mx101 minidisc deck that should connect to a HCD 10 via a 10 pin din plug. Is it possible to convert it to work as a minidisc player via another amp/ I am not worried about recording . soldring iron arming up nb searched and found nothing!! regards Paul

i disconnected 2 ribbon cables .they both have the same block connector which has a plasic clip on it,explain one and i can do both. Stuge is it just you on this site??? Where are you,I would guess India from your details,I am in the UK. thanks for the replies Paul

Definatly a mk2004gal as I have just dismantled it! Off to search for a good new drive to see if this will fix it! Putting it back together could be fiddly thanks for response. Paul

My hd3 is dead,just a brighter screen when powered on. My plan is to source and replace the hard drive. The hard drive is I believe a MK2004gal (a 3007 or4007 could be used). All the ones listed on ebay state that they are for ipod.Does that matter? Is there any other UK retailer I should consider?
