Ok! I have no idea what I did differently this time around, but it worked and I can finally use my player again! I would like to thank both of you for all of your help and I bid you good day! Cheers, 7th Peer

Ok, ok, let me walk through this: 1) Download SS 2) Download the NetMD file Now, do I download SS and reboot, or do I download both programs and then reboot? Do I have to remove the NetMD file from the zipper folder it came in and then try to activate it?
-
SFBP, why do I have to delete those files? After they are deleted, what do I do next?

I do apologize for not getting back sooner, but I was detained. PhillipeC, I followed your instructions to the letter, to no avail. Ideas?

I'm a little light on the lingo here, so let me put this down in a step-by-step process that I did, as I have no idea what a "classic session" is. 1) disabled the driver signature enforcement. 2) downloaded the new driver via the downloads section on this site 3) plugged the player in and went to the device section of the computer and highlighted it - the player. 4) clicked on said player and went to the window for it and clicked on : driver, then update driver, then browse my computer for a driver and clicked. 5) I am told by the computer that no drivers for the player are to be found on my computer. Ok, again, what am I missing/doing incorrectly!!!!
-
Ok, ok, two and two are not adding up to four here. Even with the drivers already installed a I am getting a message stating that there are NO drivers for the device installed. What Am I missing/doing wrong? Sorry for the delay in getting back to you as I was at work.

Ok, thank you for the tutorial, but I took your advice and looked it up on youtube and I found something similar. However, when clicking on the device and then clicking on the drive tab, the option to update the drivers is grayed-out and I cannot find a way to activate it. What do I do now? The device I am trying to get the computer to recognize is a Sony MZ-NF810

Hmmmm, ok, I'll give that a shot and thank you.

Greetings All, I know the following has been belabored to death, but I'm having a problem with it and I need a walk-through. I am operating Windows 7 ultimate (64 bit) and I still cannot get the computer to recognize either of my mini-disc players. Yes I went to the downloads section and downloaded the patch for this and yes I still have no idea what to do owing to the fact that I don't understand how to get the patch to "point" to the driver so it can install it. Could somebody please give me a step=by-step analysis of how this is done so I can finally enjoy using the players again? Cheers, 7thP

I'm sure this has been touched on already, but I just downloaded the file to my computer and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to activate this thing! I read the instructions, but they don't make a great deal of sense to me and I'd like to get started as soon as possible, can anyone here give me a hand? Cheers, 7th Peer

No matter the model #?

What size are the ends? I can only find cables with 3.5 size ends, those will do for any apple product but will they work for one of our players?
-
I have a '12 VW Passat and I would like to get a connector cable so that I can plug my player into the aux jack located inside the armrest. Question; what size is the connector and what else would I need to plug the mini disc player into the car? Thanks. 7thP

Ok, how do I get it to "point" to the area where the files are extracted?
-
Ok, I downloaded and extracted this, but what do I have to do next? I plugged the player in, Win7 did it's "searching" thing and I got the same "No drivers found" message. What in the name of all that is holy do I have to do now?

Some guy named J-P has a link there for downloading something, but it's been broken. As for those huge lists of code, not sure what to do there.
-
Forgive me for sounding thick-headed, but what new files? I can't seem to find anything that will allow me to download.
-
I checked it out and I'm a bit confused. Is this something that I download and install? If so, where is it because one of the links there is no longer active. If not, what do I have to do first? I'm a bit of a novice at this.

Very well, thank you very much.

Hey Everyone, I downloaded the latest version of SS from the downloads section of this site and it set up just fine (I'm running Windows 7) I have an MZ-NF810 and the damn thing won't work. I went looking for the driver so it could work, but to no avail. Is there anything here on this site that I could download that might get this to work? Cheers, 7thP

Ok everyone, I upgraded my motherboard & Processor and am now about to drop some cash on a Windows 7 system, but before I do I have a question; Which version of Windows & do I want? I have read here that some versions of Windows 7 will run/recognize all of our players, drivers and such, that is the version I want. Is it 64, or 32 bit? Any and all assistance would be much appreciated, thanks!!!!! 7thPeer

Are you referring to Windows XP? If so, no, I have a 64-bit version of Vista Professional.
-
I followed your instructions, but it won't allow me to update the driver, the option is still grayed-out. It asks me to go to device to allow the disk to be used, but when I go to that option, it too is grayed-out and won't allow me to click on it.

An addition here, the Hi-MD unit is an MZ-NH1 and when I connect it to the computer, I notice that the display shuts down, as well as the rest of the unit, nothing works. Nothing looks broken, so what else might it be?
-
Hey Everyone, I have a 64-bit version of Vista and have been following the tutorial for how to get my MD player to work & have encountered an unusual problem. I hooked up my Hi-MD player and opened SonicStage and it worked fine. I swapped out the disc (The Hi-MD it came with) and put in a regular one and I got an error message (Something about formatting) . Anyway, all of a sudden, it doesn't see the MD unit anymore. I swap that one out for my older original one (MZ-NF810) and I get the "it doesn't recognize the MD player, please install the driver" message. I downloaded the 64-bit driver file here and it opened it up, only to have the computer tell me that "code 39" is missing and as a result, the application cannot be completed at this time. Can someone here please tell me A) if I did something incorrectly. 2) If not, what do I do now? Thanks, 7thP
