  1. Is there a way to add a track mark through SonicStage on the computer...I don't have my battery/AC Adapter with me and even though it has power via USB, I can't get to any menus.
  2. Thank you. Finding that in Vista was the solution. I found it under Control Panel>Sound>Recording and then right click to show them all...I would have thought it would have been under the Realtek HD Audio Manager??? While this is good and I can make it work, is there a way to play it and record it with the volume turned down or muted? The way it's working is when the volume is up. If not, audacity just gets a flat line and no playback sound? I'm pretty sure there's a way to record the sound without it blaring out of my computer but I'm guessing you guys would know best. Thanks again! I really appreciate it!
  3. Awesome. Thanks! Quick question as I'm on Vista now and things are a bit rearranged. (for instance, the sound/volume controller is much different now) On the I/O portion of Audacity I have switched it to 2 (Stereo). I'm not sure if I'm supposed to change the "Playback" or "Recording" Device. My soundcards name in device manager is Realtek High Definition Audio In Audacity, do I change: The "Playback Device" (Output) On the drop down for that I have Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) AND Realtek Digital Output (Realteck Digital) OR under recording device I have: Microphone (Realtek High Definition Audio) I know this is probably pretty basic stuff but I don't use my MD all that often. I really appreciate the help!
  4. I don't have a line in on my laptop...just a "mic" and "headphone" symbol???
  5. Ok, I'll recap a bit. Getting an error transferring data using SS 4.0 and SS 4.3 but it plays through SS fine. I have the MZ-RH910. So, I was told to use Audacity which I installed. I'm using a laptop and connecting via USB and pressing play on SonicStage and pressing record on Audacity. However, the only sound it's recording is us talking/tv/etc...The sound is turned all the way down on my laptop. Should I be using a 3.5 to 3.5? If so, what jacks do I use? On the MD I have "mic in", "line in" and a "headphone" Do I use the 3.5 from headphone (MD) to mic jack on laptop? If so, isn't this going analog? Isn't this of poor quality? Can someone please help walk me through this. I'd really like to keep it digital and not have to mess with getting a PCMCIA Soundcard and going analog. In the Audio I/O it says (not that I understand what all this means) Playback- Device- Microsoft Sound Mapper- Output Recording- Device- Microsoft Sound Mapper- Input Channels- 1 (Mono) I am lost so please if you could dumb down the answers I'd really appreciate it.
  6. Just in case anyone has similar issues and sees this thread. I cleaned the battery, etc... and still wouldn't charge. Charged overnight via computer and not it charges as normal?
  7. Ok. Cool, I didn't realize I could still go digital. I thought I'd have to go analog via and PCMCIA Soundcard. However, a question. How will Audacity recognize SonicStage? Do I just press record on Audacity and play on SonicStage? Do I need to adjust any sound settings? Thanks!
  8. Any specific program you'd recommend for it? Sorry but now I'm a bit confused. Do I hook it up to my stereo and then run my line out of my receiver to my computer. I don't have a line in on my computer unless that is the "headphone" or "mic" symbol
  9. I'm having issues and I'm thinking I'm going to either: #1- Run it through my stereo and use another MD Recorder to record that #2- Use Total Recorder and pay the $18 Thoughts?
  10. Got a track in the middle of my show that I'm getting an error on. I've tried 2 versions of SS...4.0 CP on XP and 4.3 CP on Vista. Is there any other way to export this digitally? I'm sick of the MD player. Always a pain. The error I get is "Failed to read the data" I think it plays fine (double checking) Also tried copying the files to the computer and then I get "access error" on the MD??? I’m thinking of doing 2 things. #1- Playing it through my stereo and recording from another recorder #2- Putting a trackmark in before and after the error if I can find it. Is there a way to put a track marker via computer instead of on the device?
  11. Also tried copying the files to the computer and then I get "access error" on the MD???
  12. Got a track in the middle of my show that I'm getting an error on. I've tried 2 versions of SS...4.0 CP on XP and 4.3 CP on Vista. Is there any other way to export this digitally? I'm sick of the MD player. Always a pain. The error I get is "Failed to read the data" It plays fine
  13. I did a live recording and it broke it into 39 different sections. I usually use Wavepad to simply make a long recording into multiple tracks. However, I would like to merge all these together and THEN separate the tracks. Is there a better freeware program or can I do it in SonicStage? Thanks!
  14. Any idea how long I should expect the battery to charge using the PC? Thanks!
  15. I have an MZ-RH910 and if I plug it in via ac adapter, it works but dies immediately after I pull the plug. I've tried cleaning the battery. Changing the rotation of how the battery is in. Disc in, disc out...Anyway, you get it. If I just use the ac adapter, I don't get anything. OCCASIONALLY, I will get a quick flash or flicker of "charging" However, if I plug it in to the computer, it charges. Not sure how much (we'll see) Any thoughts?
