Winamp is Ok, I used it before foobar2000. I knew Wincue plugin also (I used 2 seconds gap). What is important is to use a good output, preferably digital foobar2000 / Winamp : DS, KS, Asio (with exclusive application use of the audio output). Just record first (if you use your computer with a good DAC inside or outside - to record Flac flies - you can use foobar2000 withe the Posttracksilen DSP to create gaps). Then put the MD inside your Net-MD unit and connect it to your Pc. Open "Sonic Stage CP" (last version, see download section, you can even install well for any unit on Windows 8.1 64bit). You will get all your tracks, you just need to edit each track (copy-paste track names one by one from foobar2000 if you have used it). If you have errors, record again or split / cut tracks with your portable / deck unit.

foxglove, Sirius' RH1 has a power problem that will certainly a big problem for your live recordings if you move the unit. Unit price is certaintly good considering this problem if you can solve it. Please note that any Hi-MD recorder can record (PCM and Atrac) and upload any recording if it has been done by the same unit. The unit still have a spare parts value if choudy cannnot find himself another "spare parts" RH1 . freddyfolio you are right, a cheaper Hi-MD unit would have been better for field recordings.

In fact Stephen is right, if any shipping costs both ways to somebody who can help you are expensive, there is no need to repair this unit. At least, try yourself to open the deck and see if it could be a lack of some teeths on a wheel, a need of grease somewhere, a distended belt or anything that could disturb the loading of the disc.

In France, the Fnac (which is similar to Amazon) sold his own brand name MD blanks series. It was notorious at the time that a small percentage of the MD blanks had problems. Recently I used them again and I can tell yes, they still have problems. One disc on 5 was not recognized by my MZ-RH1 but has no problem with my JB980. I have around 300 MD blanks and so far I got problems (both MZ-Rh1 and JB980) with 10 MD blanks. Problems can be solved with an MD unit which is able to format any MD like pro decks / portable units (HBB).
