I've tried formating but it only erased the data. However a solution has been found: while pressing the options icon, press once the top three buttons (left,middle,right) then press twice the left button and twice the right button. Finally release the options icon. The player will restart into normal operating mode.

I have bought a Sony NWZ-X1050 ex-demo unit. However no one from Sony Greece tech service seems to know how to disable the Demo mode. Any ideas? Thanks
