  1. Hmmm... tried it with another PC and the audio came out fine.... Atleast I know it's not the DG port itself... On my older Toshiba L305D it works like a charm. My little Acer Aspire One ZA3 is the one giving me torubles with the static, and that's the comp I use on graveyard (for it's portability, and relativly great speed, considering...) Sf, thanks for the advice, will have to check all the inputs on that little Acer at work tonight. Thanks for the responses, and now that I look at that first post, I apologize for the confusion, I was at work last night when i posted, and things kept getting nuttier and nuttier at the job lol
  2. ^^^^ Lemme clarify... I was using the DGPort to Record music, onto the RH910. The signal had loads of static on it. Using windows vista, when the DG port initializes as the primary playback method, the only options I have on the "Volume Mixer" is "Device" and "application"
  3. Hello all, got my MZ-RH10, great device, cant get enough of it - however it came with (the seller included it atleast) with a MD Port DG2, the one with the digital out. Only problem is after the driver instlled itself, and I opened an audio file, the optical connection had LOADS of static on it - I still got the audio signal, just with huge amounts of static. I understand that the DG2's volume in contingent on the device's audio, but when I manually turned it down the volume, the static was still just as prevalent - any ideas on what the issue might be? Anybody else get this issue? Any possible fix?
  4. Thanks for the info, will most def have to acquire one of these, and they're pretty inexpensive aswell
  5. MZ-RH 910 - any issues with this device? I don't think I can upload my lagacy disc with this one...
  6. In the past, i've used MDLP to rrecord old talk radio, (Art Bell, Phil Hendrie, etc), and found that LP4 was absolutely fine for that. LOL back in those days, compared to cassette, LP4 was a Godsend for talk radio junkies - 320 mins on 1 disc? You could recored the whole 4 hour show on 1 disc... that was astonishing at the time, and to some degree still is, considering it's such a small device...
  7. Greetings, thank God this place exist, MD still rocks... anyways... My Hi-MD should be here tomorrow, can't wait to mess w/ that, but before I shelled out the cash for that, I needed a way to put my old MD's on my PC. Only thing is, these new laptops do not CARRY THE LINE IN JACK ANYMORE. Had to figure something out... have a DVD recorder, can do up to six hour on that, so it was MD Audio out - DVD rec in, plus the vid sig form a portable DVD player. Finalize, back into PC, rip the audio with DVDFAB via .wav or 192 KBPS mp3 depending on the material. Not nearly as good as that option, I actually got a little iriver E100, with line in. Highest quality is 192 kbps WMA+ via line in, down to 96 kbps. For stuff like old talk radio, 128 kpbs is perfect, and you get like 68 hours on the devices built in 4 gb hd. 192 I think gives you 45 hours or so. Problem with the iriver is that there is a slight squeal when you put it on line in rec, no matter what the source... a little disappointing, but once I uplaoded them back into the PC, I didn't hear anything... doesn't mean it's not there, although I did put the file in Audution and didn't see any anomolies, but w/e... Any other methods to transfer MD to PC with no line in? Until I purchased my hi-md, I was seriously considering a stand alone CD recorder... but couldn't find ANYTHING at a reasonable price point...
